- I am disgusted with the heartlessness and bigotry I'm reading. When we gave "welfare" to the banks and now they are giving mega bonuses no one says a word. When defense contractors' shoddy work that they are paid handsomly for (via our tax dollars) kill our soldiers no one says a word.

- I understand the need for everyone to be a part of healthcare however I'm sure the greedy insurance companies will make sure they continue to raise prices out of reach and doctors will have little incentive to end the more-more-more treatment even when unnecessary.

- Here, Here. My son was regular army and is going to school on the GI bill. I'm housing him for nothing at a sacrifice (I'm single) so that he can go to school. Hopefully when he finishes in 3 years there will be a job for him.

- Right on. I agree with you and have one more suggestion: develop and use more visiting nurses. It can keep down hospital stays and reduce some office doctor visits.

- My son was in Iraq and we (his parents) moves so he wasn't getting his bank statements. Because of a late Army direct deposit he eventually wound up with so many overdraft fees his whole pay was going to pay bank fees and he could not pay bills.

- Republicans (and I am one) have made a royal mess of this country. We are in such dire straits we need major changes. I am for giving president Obama a chance and I think discredited Republicans need to support his programs given their defeat in the past election.

- Doctors are pushing more and more pills of all sorts. I've had terrible depression side effects from blood pressure medicine (I'm on one that isn't too bad) and yet the numbers are never good enough and they keep pushing more and more.
